What Everyone Wants To Know About The Edibility Of Ladyfish
Ladyfish put up quite a fight once they get hooked. Once you manage to win the fight and get it to the boat, it makes the whole place bloody. Believe you me I always wondered if it was worth the trouble till I had a ladyfish delicacy which made me realise that once prepared well, ladyfish’s sweet taste would pay off for all the trouble the angler has to go through. Despite the fact that the ladyfish are mostly used as baits due to their bony nature, they are edible. When mixed with a few ingredients, they acquire a mild flavour. Below here I will illustrate some procedures you can follow to ready the ladyfish for cooking, the ingredients you will require and the procedure you will follow to prepare a ladyfish delicacy.
Are Ladyfish Edible?
Ladyfish are edible. They are considered not ideal for human consumption because they have too many bones. To increase their consumable nature, ladyfish are ground into fish meal. This makes it possible for the bones to be crushed too and they cease to be hazards to consumers.
Due to the low meat content of the ladyfish, I thought that many people do not like eating ladyfish. I was surprised to find out that most anglers are always willing to do whatever it takes to get some meat from the bony creatures. To get some meat from a ladyfish, you can cut off the tail and then use a rolling pin to squeeze the flesh. You can then use the meat to make raw fish of fish cakes. The fish cakes originated from Asia and are made by mixing the ladyfish meat with some ingredients to make patties. Other people prefer to dig their teeth into the flesh of the ladyfish.
